The Dwellers of Black River.

The Murkmen are the first inhabitants of Black River. They hunted its depths for thousands of years.

Black River is home to many creatures of all sizes and shapes.

The Murkmen are under the care and protection of the Matriarch. She is the hunting leader and general commander. She knows where to put others in their places. No Murkman dares question her decisions because they all know, mother knows best.

Hard on the outside and no one really knows what is on her inside because she doesn't speak. But she will cut you. She just cuts whatever needs cutting. A living tool. The fix. A cut above among bottom crawlers.

Small, stout, and highly intelligent. An all-around strategist. He can lure anything that moves underwater with his wits, especially the female specimens. ;)

There is no current strong enough to stop him from chasing his target. Capture or kill, there are no other options for him. Once the hunted prey, he has now become the scarred veteran of the deep, the most skilled huntsman of Black River.

His large size posts no problem for he is a master of camouflage. He may be slow and doesn't move much but he is strong and boy, he can snap!

Black River is teeming with these critters. They are the easiest catch and staple food for every inhabitant.

Prized for their tasty meat, Gloopas are the most hunted creature of Black River. These gentle things are a rare sight and their numbers are now dwindling.

Watch where you step in the river floor. You may lose a limb!

Don't let the name fool you. These things do not make any sounds at all. Rock clappers are notorious for snatching unsuspecting victims and dragging them down deep in the crevices.

The great apex devourer of Black River. Both preys and predators alike fear this slithering giant.
